Role Overview: 

• The Apheresis RN Specialist is responsible for independently performing therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) procedures using the Amicus apheresis machine. This role involves ensuring the highest quality of patient care, maintaining the safety and functionality of the equipment, and providing clear communication and support to patients throughout each procedure. This position offers part-time or full-time flexibility.

Role Responsibilities:

• Perform therapeutic plasma exchange procedures using the Amicus apheresis machine.
• Communicate with patients before and after each TPE session to explain the process, answer questions, and address any concerns.
• Start ultrasound-guided IVs, administer IV solutions, and prepare IV bags as needed for each procedure.
• Complete comprehensive charting in the CERBO electronic medical record system.
• Monitor, take, and interpret vital signs throughout each 4-hour procedure to ensure patient stability and safety.
• Maintain a current BLS certification.
• Clean and maintain the Amicus machine after each use, adhering to proper hygiene and safety protocols.

Hours & Compensation:

• Schedule: Procedures are scheduled Monday through Friday, between 7 AM and 3 PM. Each TPE session is expected to last between 2–3 hours.
• Full-Time Salary: $130,000 annually with full benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan options.
• Part-Time Salary: $600 per procedure. This part-time role does not include benefits but provides a flexible schedule.

Specific Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Proficiency in ultrasound-guided IV placement.
• VA-BC certification (Vascular Access Board Certified) preferred.
• Experience in therapeutic plasma exchange, apheresis, or related fields is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to provide compassionate patient care.
