About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief External Affairs Officer (CEAO) to lead strategic philanthropic growth and guide the marketing and communications team. The CEAO will be responsible for developing and executing short and long-term plans to expand the donor base, enhance the brand strategy, and build strategic partnerships. This role is pivotal in ensuring the organization's mission of providing quality services that promote choice, independence, and inclusion for individuals with disabilities is supported by a strong financial foundation. The successful candidate will be a skilled fundraiser with a proven track record in philanthropy, institutional partnerships, and marketing communications, and will work closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to cultivate and maintain relationships with high-level donors and stakeholders. Applicants for the CEAO position at the company should have at least 10 years of senior leadership experience, with a minimum of 6 years in a senior development role. A Bachelor's degree is required, and a Master's degree is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have a career track record demonstrating stability, the capacity to nurture relationships, and a commitment to the mission of promoting choice, independence, and inclusion for individuals with disabilities. They must be strategic, visionary, and goal-oriented, with the ability to lead a high-performing team and ensure the effective integration of public-facing and individual engagement efforts. Proficiency in donor CRM software and Microsoft Office is essential, and the candidate should be adept at creating and managing comprehensive development, marketing, and communications strategies. The role demands a leader who is dedicated to the values of compassion, dedication, and collaboration in making a meaningful difference in the lives of the people served by the organization.
