Job Description
Database Administrator: Our client is looking for an Database Administrator. You will help perform regular maintenance such as software updates, back ups and resolving any issues that may arise.
Scope: - Manage and maintain our PostgreSQL and MySQL databases, and Kafka, ensuring high availability and reliability on our in-house kubernetes platform.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as reindexing, backups, patching, and software upgrades.
- Monitor the performance and health of our databases, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Design and implement growth strategies for our databases, ensuring they can handle our organization's increasing data needs.
- Collaborate with software developers and other scientific computing staff to optimize database performance and support application development.
- Develop and implement security measures to protect our databases from unauthorized access or data breaches.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Kafka.
- Extensive experience with database design, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Experience with database security best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Estimated Min Rate : $75.00
Estimated Max Rate : $85.00
