Job Description
The full-time farm hand will assist in the day-to-day operations on the farm working outdoors during all seasons. This person will need to have experience with small and large equipment operation, power tool operation, fence repair, and other general handyman skills.
This is a full time 40 hours per week position that requires flexibility for additional days, weekends, and longer hours when applicable (i.e. planting and harvest)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintain strict confidentiality of Employers, Properties and other Employees
· Assist with day to day operations of the farm
· Routine maintenance of small equipment
· Vehicle/equipment cleaning and maintenance
· Cultivate soil and sow crops; plan, maintain and harvest food crops
· Inspect the farm/property for maintenance needs
· Support and work closely with farm manager and all other staff members
· Repair and maintain farm vehicles and mechanical equipment
· Field dragging, seeding, and spraying weeds
· Hay production
· Bush hogging
· Preparation of food plots; blind maintenance and repair
· Fence/gate repair
· Mowing, weed eating, bush trimming
· Driveway maintenance
· Leaf removal
Skills and Abilities
· Ability to read and follow instructions for equipment and materials
· Be professional, resourceful, honest, and an excellent communicator
· Ability to read and follow company policies
· Skillful, responsible, and cautious when operating heavy machinery
· Proficient at using basic tools/power tools to complete farm maintenance work
Requirements and Qualifications
· At least 2 years of farm experience
· Must be a team player
· Must be able to take instructions as given but also be proactive
· Comfortable with being outdoors in all weather conditions and for long periods of time
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (repeatedly)
· Successfully complete an in-depth background investigation, including a cyber / social media risk evaluation
· Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an excellent DMV record
