Our client is a US software and services company that supports the government in various defense initiatives. Because of their high growth, they would like to hire a lawyer to join their well established legal team to predominately support their East Coast business based in Northern Virginia. The role will require a high degree of self-sufficiency but also someone who enjoys being part of a supportive team dedicated to providing top legal service. You must be willing to roll up your sleeves and be comfortable working in ambiguity. Support the review and negotiation of a variety of federal government and defense transactions, including software licensing agreements and general corporate matters. Ensuring the business complies with regulations that apply to government contracts. Lead or support various compliance activities, reporting requirements, and internal investigations as required Assist in drafting company policies and prepare employee government contracts and compliance training and education Proactively manage other duties that may arise as part of a small legal team in a high growth start-up Qualifications: In depth knowledge advising clients on government procurement laws and processes including the Federal Acquisition Regulation and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement, particularly with respect to software/IT contracts.
