Salary : $31,200.00 Annually Location : TX, TX Job Type: Internship Department: Finance Division: Finance Administration Opening Date: 04/02/2025 Scope of Work Under general direction of the Director of Finance, the Finance Intern assists with various accounting reconciliations, projects and other operational needs of the Accounting and Budget divisions. Other duties for Finance may be assigned as needed. This is a part-time, limited duration internship position. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assists Finance Department with reconciliations and special projects as assigned.
• Assists the Budget Manager and the Budget Analyst with the development and administration of City's operational budget; gathers and compiles budget, financial, and technical information from departments, schedules meetings, compiles materials and binders for the Budget Allocation Process, and other clerical duties as assigned.
• Assists in research and gathering of economic, financial, demographic, and statistical information; may be asked to create and update charts and tables.
• Supports the relationship between the City of Midland and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and City staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and City information; performs other duties as required or assigned.

Physical and Environmental Conditions Must be able to sit and stand in an office setting for hours at a time. Required Qualifications Education, Training and Experience Guidelines: Must have completed 2 semesters from an accredited university, preferably with an Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Public Administration degree plan. Knowledge of: Personal computers, Excel, Word, Adobe applications Skills: Analytical thinking. Ability to comprehend and describe trends reflected in charts and graphs. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to multi-task and develop strategies to work effectively and efficiently Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers. City of Midland, TX
