Position Summary:

Full-Time position requiring the steady use of a Stand-Up High-Reach Forklift in a Cold Storage Warehouse facility. Position entails the maneuvering of cargo in/around tight spaces and racking in cold and sub-zero conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or General Education Equivalent

• Formal training on the Stand-Up Hi-Reach Forklift a plus.

• Valid driver's license with clean driving history.

Job Description:

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safe operation of the High-Reach Forklift to move materials and product around inside the Cold Storage and Freezer units of the facility

• Processing orders and transporting product to trucks for shipment. Counting materials and product when requested.

• Rotating product to ensure freshness and to reduce spoilage.

• Work in the corresponding shift. 1st shift from 6am to 3 pm or 2nd shift from 3pm to 11pm

EXPERIENCE

• Previous knowledge and experience in the operation of Powered Forklifts, Pallet Jacks and Stand-Up High-Reach lifts is required.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Skilled Operation of the Stand-Up High-Reach Forklift within a rack system and tight space conditions.

• Familiarity with battery operations and charging procedures.

• Familiarity with Warehouse operations; within the food storage industry is a plus

• Basic computer skills and math capabilities (e.g. addition, subtraction)

• Can take direction and work independent of direct supervision.

• Read and write English

• Willingness to work extended hours when necessary

• Occasionally required to balance, stoop or crouch.

• Occasionally required to climb stairs and ladders.

Work Environment:

• Always required to act professionally.

• Always exposed to a variety of temperatures ranging from daily ambient temps to -10 below in the freezer unit, weather conditions and sound levels.

• Occasionally exposed to hazardous conditions requiring personal protective equipment.

Cognitive Skills:

• Always required to think, evaluate and make decisions.

• Regularly required to perform basic math computations (e.g. addition, subtraction)

• Occasionally required to analyze, study, compare and report.
