JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Housing Manager FLSA Status: Exempt Department: Care Services Location: 1348 Bainbridge Street Reports to: Care Services Directors Supervises: 6 Job Summary: Manage the daily operations of the Housing Subsidy Program. Communication: Good oral and written communication skills are required for this position. The person in this position must be able to communicate effectively with the clients, staff, and others; and contribute to a positive environment. Key Responsibilities: Program Management and Coordination: Liaison between Mazzoni Center and OHS. Liaison between Mazzoni Center and DHCD. Process housing referrals, review, and enter client demographic data in CareWare. Manage open slots for the program and ensure that referral acquisition occurs in a smooth and timely manner. Assign clients to appropriate housing counselor within 2 business days of referral. Assist Housing Counselors with unit inspections (annual and special inspections). Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for Housing Program and submit to Care Services Directors and/or DHCD/OHS Assist in developing evaluation efforts and monitor program impact evaluation outcomes for the housing program. Manage Annual Review process (renewal letters, inspections, landlord documentation, rent reasonableness requests/certifications, rent determinations, and lease addendums) Monitor monthly rent/security spending to ensure budgetary compliance. Maintain landlord/apartment listing (update monthly). Staff Management and Supervision: Provide weekly supervisions. Maintain written notes of all supervisions. Complete introductory and annual performance evaluation for supervisees. Conduct chart reviews (hard files and Care Ware) for supervisees to ensure that paperwork is accurate and complete. Assist Directors of Care Services with interviewing new staff. Assist in the orientation and training of new staff. Assist with client-related crises as necessary. Other Protect client information and records at all times in compliance with agency Confidentiality Policy and HIPAA regulations. Participate in weekly supervision with Directors of Care Services. Participate in monthly Care Services Department Managers Meetings. Facilitate Housing Subsidy Program Team Meetings. Participate in agency meetings, staff in-services, and external trainings as required. Perform other related duties as assigned by Directors of Care Services. Education, Training, License and Certification, Skills and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in social service preferred. HQS Housing Inspection Certified Minimum of two years direct service experience. Supervisory skills (with some supervisory experience). Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and LGBTQ issues and community resources. Providing Support and Developing Staff Managing Performance Bi-lingual preferred Clearances: Background checks are required, including Criminal Background Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Clearance. Physical Requirements:
  1. Ability to travel on public transportation
  2. The ability to lift objects greater than 25 pounds
  3. The ability to communicate using written and spoken words
  4. Must have all necessary screenings and vaccinations
