Job Description

Associate/Senior Associate New Hire Description:

Three Ocean Partners (“TOP”) is a merchant banking firm that maintains strong advisory and investment relationships with the leaders of the most respected private equity and venture capital firms, family offices, and corporations worldwide. Through this network, TOP provides strategic M&A advisory services and co-invests in private equity and venture capital opportunities.

Our team is seeking to add a Full-Time Associate/Senior Associate with 2-4 years of experience. The candidate must have an outstanding analytical mind, strong interpersonal and communication skills, integrity and possess the ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment. This is an incredibly unique opportunity, unlike a traditional investment banking position, in that a candidate will be exposed to a significant amount of client interaction and will be afforded the opportunity to travel for both pitching new business and executing transactions. A versatile candidate who enjoys a wide variety of advisory and investing assignments will benefit from the hands-on involvement of TOP’s senior bankers, as well as frequent interaction with prominent clients and investors.

We prioritize talent development, fostering professional and personal growth, and creating an inclusive environment. Each of our employees bring unique experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds to meet the evolving challenges and opportunities in the economy today.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree with high academic achievement and 3+ years of previous experience at a bulge bracket or boutique investment bank in investment banking, merchant banking, or private equity is preferred
  • Deep analytical and problem-solving skill set with proficiency in financial modeling and strong written and oral communication skills
  • Comfortable working on broad assignments, breaking down “big picture” questions and problems into smaller components
  • Passion for investing and learning about new industries with a direct interest in consumer, sports, business services, and industrial sectors
  • Demonstrated ability and interest working in a lean, entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong time management skills and the capacity to handle multiple assignments at once
  • Outstanding work ethic and attention to detail in all work prepared
  • High level of integrity and energy with a positive team-oriented attitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite required (MS Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Series 79, Series 63, and SIE licensed
  • Execution focused

Responsibilities:

  • Develop in-depth assessment of business plans and investment proposals to determine business model viability, industry attractiveness, and strategic fit
  • Play a key leadership role in the transaction execution process
  • Build strong relationships within the venture and startup ecosystems to source potential investments
  • Advise and work with founders, CEOs, CFOs and key senior management to formulate investment marketing and due diligence materials
  • Prepare and review complex financial analyses and models and deliver presentations on conclusions
  • Support portfolio companies and current investments as well as produce comprehensive investor updates for various private equity co-investments
  • Generate novel insights from analysis and develop and implement new methodologies to drive actionable results
  • Manage deal flow and other process elements relevant to TOP’s continued success
  • Will be expected to dedicate ~50% to investing opportunities and ~50% to advisory with capability to focus more on either strategy based on candidate’s interests

The environment is collaborative, demanding, fast paced and entrepreneurial. Compensation is extremely competitive.

Interested candidates should send a resume to Jenise at [email protected]. Referrals are appreciated.

Thank you,
