Job Title: Managing Attorney – Emerging Companies & Venture Capital (ECVC)

The client is seeking an experienced Managing Attorney to lead and support its Emerging Companies & Venture Capital (ECVC) practice in San Francisco . This is a key leadership role designed for a dynamic, business-oriented attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to guide clients through all stages of the startup lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as lead counsel on a wide range of matters for startup clients, including entity formation, financing (SAFE, convertible notes, preferred equity), corporate governance, and exit transactions.
• Advise founders, executives, and investors on legal and strategic matters across early and growth-stage companies.
• Manage client relationships and serve as primary point of contact, with a focus on building long-term partnerships.
• Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff.
• Ensure effective delivery of legal services in line with firm and client expectations.
• Contribute to firm strategy, operations, and growth in collaboration with the leadership team.

Requirements

• J.D. from a top-tier law school and active member in good standing with the California Bar.
• Must have 2+ years of experience in the emerging company/venture capital (ECVC) space or in house at a startup company.
• Proven expertise in venture financings, startup counseling, M&A transactions, and cap table management.
