Position Overview

Leidos is looking for a mid-level Network Solutions Engineer to support the High Fidelity Simulation (HFS) Portfolio under a Department of Defense (DoD) contract. Our mission involves architecting and implementing large-scale System of Systems technologies essential for delivering top-tier simulation, training, and analysis services to the US Navy. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary IT team to support various network environments, both classified and unclassified. These include on-premises government facilities, contractor sites, and cloud environments. Your role will encompass building and enhancing DevSecOps pipelines, maintaining and improving IT infrastructure, assisting users through help desk support, and engaging in cybersecurity operations. As a Network Solutions Engineer, you will design, engineer, and deploy networking solutions while ensuring robust cybersecurity measures across local and wide area networks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Innovate solutions to intricate technical challenges.

• Deliver networking engineering expertise for both new and legacy network systems.

• Contribute to policy development, design processes, and procedures, alongside technical designs to secure development and training environments.

• Enhance and maintain a strong cybersecurity posture.

• Evaluate system vulnerabilities, execute risk mitigation strategies, and validate secure systems while testing security implementations.

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Compliance with 8570.1-M / DoD 8140 is essential, including IAT Level II certifications (such as Security+, SSCP, or CISSP), along with Linux+, RHCE, Network+, or CCNA (or better).

Required Experience

• U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. Government granted security clearance. An interim Secret security clearance is needed to commence employment.

• 4+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or 2+ years with a Master's degree.

• Experience must include:

  • Network architectural design, engineering, and deployment, along with cybersecurity engineering services.

  • Designing and deploying on-premises and cloud-based network infrastructures.

  • Securing networks and supporting cybersecurity initiatives.

• Must possess pertinent experience and demonstrate the capabilities to execute duties and responsibilities effectively.

• Proficiency in networking with Linux-based devices is crucial.

Desired Experience

• Familiarity with Atlassian products such as JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket.

• Proven experience with Windows administration, particularly concerning Windows 10, DISA SHB, and Windows Server 2012.

• Linux system administration expertise.

• Experience in cybersecurity practices.

• Ability to capture user requirements and collaborate with stakeholders to develop effective technical solutions.

• Proficient in network access controls, data packet capture, network traffic analysis, and vulnerability assessment and remediation.

• Exceptional in customer service skills and capable of engaging effectively with diverse teams, customers, and service providers.

• A strong understanding of the OSI model and troubleshooting techniques based on it.

• Experience in establishing and maintaining classified encrypted connections using NSA Type-1 Encryption devices.

Pay Range: Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
