POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Public Relations/Social Media Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a proactive PR plan for Vertex Education clients in Arizona. The Public Relations Manager will work with the communications, administrative, and marketing teams to develop and pitch positive stories on Vertex Education clients in order to gain exposure among parents of K-8 students. for setting and implementing the Social Media Strategy for the social media pages of all Vertex Education clients (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Build and execute social media strategies for Vertex education clients.
  • Optimize and maintain school pages within each platform to increase the visibility of school’s social content.
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages school community members to support Legacy Traditional Schools.
  • Create content calendars and syndication schedules.
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social media data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information.
  • Develop PR strategies that effectively steer public opinion on Legacy Traditional Schools.
  • Proactively pitching publications, including top-tier, industry and regional outlets.
  • Writing press releases and other media communications.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field of study.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in PR and Social Media.
  • Proven track record designing and executing successful PR campaigns.
  • Strong relationships with media outlets, bloggers and influencers.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Execute deep understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.
  • Strong storytelling and creative thinking skills with an eye for engaging content that will resonate with existing and target customers.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education, Certifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field of study.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in PR and Social Media
  • Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns.
  • Strong relationships with both local and Arizona-centric media outlets as well as bloggers and influencers
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Display in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios
  • Strong storytelling and creative thinking skills with an eye for engaging content that will resonate with existing and target customers.

BACKGROUND CHECKS:

  • The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at all times.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Travel between campuses is required from time to time.
  • This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion.
  • This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping and long periods of concentration.
  • Local and instate travel required.
