Position description

The recruiting specialist is responsible for full-cycle recruitment activities to support TRISTAR’S talent acquisition. This position works closely with hiring managers, security, and HR business partners to attract, assess, and onboard qualified candidates for a variety of technical and cleared positions. The recruiting specialist verifies that hiring practices align with company goals, federal and state employment laws, and U.S. government contracting regulations, including compliance with OFCCP and EEO standards.

Essential functions and duties

· Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for assigned positions, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer negotiation, and onboarding

· Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and provide guidance on job descriptions, market conditions, and hiring timelines

· Verify compliance with federal hiring regulations including OFCCP guidelines and EEO,

· Maintain accurate candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and provide required documentation for audits or internal reporting

· Support clearance-related hiring requirements by coordinating with security personnel

· Represent the company at career fairs, university recruiting events, veteran hiring initiatives, and industry networking events

· Support company branding strategies and contribute to recruitment marketing materials, social media posts, and employee value proposition messaging.

· Use and maintain the ATS (e.g., Paylocity) and other HR technologies for tracking candidates and reporting metrics

· Stay informed of labor market trends, recruiting best practices, and emerging technologies in talent acquisition

Required experience, education, and skills:

· Associates Degree or equivalent college experience or a minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the government contracting industry

· Thorough understanding of federal contracting requirements, including OFCCP compliance and employment laws

· Exceptional organizational, and interpersonal skills

· Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and recruitment tools

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret recruitment data and metrics

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Performs other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

· Proven experience recruiting for positions requiring security clearances

· SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar certification

· Strong social media skills

Working Conditions

· Primarily works in an office environment with frequent use of computers and recruitment software

· May require occasional travel for industry events, client sites, and military transition programs

· Frequently interacts with employees, candidates, and leadership teams both in-person and virtually

· Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours when necessary to accommodate interview schedules and hiring needs
