The Rides Maintenance Senior Manager oversees, develops and implements strategies to ensure the efficient maintenance of all park rides and attractions, in compliance with state and federal regulations, and company policies and procedures.

Summary of Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and monitor procedures for the required and preventative maintenance of all rides and attractions
  • Ensure compliance with the ride manufacturer requirements and company policies pertaining to maintenance
  • Develop, implement and monitor expense and inventory control programs for the Attractions Maintenance Team
  • Conduct P & L reviews, develop forecasts, and initiate actions
  • Provide analysis of the current and future state of the department and equipment
  • Develop PER's and champion as assigned
  • Implement and monitor a "management by wandering around/staying close to our customer" program
  • Actively participate in selection & vetting of new rides and attractions
  • Optimize ride capacity, minimize down time
  • Assess and respond to climate
  • Conduct quarterly reviews, career planning conferences, and counsel employees
  • Develop qualified supervisors through coordination of management trainee program
  • Implement and monitor compliance with the Dollywood Safety Program and procedures
  • Coordinate divisional safety program and monitor training of new and returning hosts, resulting in understanding and commitment to their safety responsibilities and the Dollywood Safety Program
  • Demonstrate care and support for Dollywood hosts through verbal, written, and personal actions
  • Provide strategic vision for the Attractions Maintenance team
  • Maintain open communication with Safety & Operations leadership
  • Develop annual operational plans for the Attractions Maintenance team (operating procedures, capital investments, and manpower planning) and, after approved, implement and monitor to achieve annual objectives and support strategic objectives
  • Actively participate in cross property maintenance meetings
  • Practice flex leadership
  • Recognize and resolve conflicts in a timely manner
  • Monitor operations and resolve problems as host-in-charge of Team
  • Perform additional duties and make decisions as requested by leadership

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience that demonstrates successful execution of similar duties and responsibilities in a commercial/industrial environment
  • Minimum 3 years of Supervisory experience of at least 2 direct reports with proven skills including verbal and written communication, leadership, planning, organizing, and controlling
  • People skills including motivating, coaching, counseling, leveling, conducting disciplinary actions, complimenting, and providing positive feedback
