Purpose of the Position: Responsible for coordinating and leading the architectural drafting team on a project in developing documents. Assists the Project Manager with project administration from schematic design through construction documents. Project Types: Single Family Production homes, and some Multifamily Reports to: Project Manager Responsibilities: Uses AutoCAD and board to produce construction documents using designs of Generates architectural plans and artwork. Make redline corrections to existing construction documents as well as help with scheduling of construction documents. Communicates with drafting staff regarding specifications and corrections to construction documents. Insure that construction documents are complete and ready for submittal to planning department and design review committee Work directly with Project Managers and Licensed Architect to coordinate and delegate work of selected projects. Provides work direction and delegates work to insure that the team is completing projects within and/or before deadlines Ensures compliance to applicable codes and standards for construction document production. Coordinate projects with the structural and HVAC consultants. Researches and evaluates data for products. Assesses problems and recommends solutions to the Project Manager. Coordinate with clients, consultants, engineers, contractors and subcontractors to answer and/or fix any issues pertaining to the scope of the overall project. Attend project meetings. Assists in training and developing junior staff. Performs job site visits to review progress of construction, prepares and issues field reports. Skills and qualifications: Proven design abilities AutoCAD proficiency required; 3-D modeling programs desirable Communicate clearly and concisely; both orally and in writing Ability to lead a team Education and experience: Associate’s degree in Architecture or related field. (3) three to (6) six years experience in complex design development and contract documents. The “Good Times” that were predicted to rebound have begun.
