As a Staff Product Designer at Fanatics Collectibles, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience and visual design of our digital products. You will work directly with the Director of UX & Design, collaborating closely to create and refine our design vision. Your expertise will guide the design process, ensuring our products are both user-friendly and visually compelling. This role requires a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example.

Day-to-Day Duties:
  • Collaborate directly with the Director of UX & Design to develop and execute design strategies that align with business goals.
  • Lead the design process for key projects, from ideation to delivery, ensuring a high level of quality and consistency.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform and validate design decisions.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using industry-standard design tools (e.g., Figma, Miro, Rive, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive design systems and style guides.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings, providing design insights and feedback to stakeholders.
  • Stay current with design trends, tools, and technologies, and share knowledge with the team.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Present design concepts and solutions to stakeholders, effectively communicating design rationale.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field or eqiuvalent experience. Master's degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Proven experience in leading large-scale design projects and working in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Miro, Rive, and others.
  • Deep understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and visual design.
  • Extensive experience with user research methods, including surveys, interviews, and usability testing.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.
  • Experience in designing for various platforms, including web, mobile, and desktop applications.

Desired Skills:
  • Mastery in Figma, including complex prototyping and extensive experience with design systems.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate business goals into compelling design solutions.
  • Expertise in ecommerce design and a solid understanding of ecommerce best practices.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices (e.g., WCAG 2.1).
  • Experience with creating animations and micro-interactions to enhance user experience.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a meticulous eye for detail.

In New York City, the salary range for this position is $180,000- $225,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. In Los Angeles, the salary range for this position is $164,000- $205,000. The listed salary ranges are specific to Los Angeles or NYC and may not be applicable to other locations. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.

About the Team

Fanatics Collectibles is a leading licensor, producer, designer, and seller of physical and digital trading cards, sports memorabilia, and other digital assets for entertainment and sports properties globally, as well as a manufacturer of physical and digital trading cards. It has secured exclusive licensing arrangements with major national professional sports leagues, including the MLB, NFL and the NBA, and related players associations, to produce physical and digital trading cards and other collectibles.

Fanatics Collectibles also has partnerships with a number of individual international sports teams and leagues, as well as owners of other entertainment properties granting similar exclusive rights.
