Job Details

• A hospital in SE Texas is looking for an experienced MedSurg/Tele RN for a travel contract.
• The right candidate will have 2 years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and a TX License.
• CHI St. Joseph Health College Station Hospital is a 167-bed facility that offers a Level III Trauma unit.
• We are also an accredited Chest Pain Center, a certified Primary Stroke Center, and a Joint Commission-accredited joint replacement program.

Job Requirements

• 2 years of experience
• Active BLS certification
• Active ACLS certification
• Active NIHSS certification
• TX License required

Schedule Information

• 12 hour shifts starting at 6:45
• Travelers fill in the gaps on first schedule, will try to get travelers a block schedule after that
• Every other weekend requirement
• Rotate in with core staff for holiday requirement
• Floating requirements: intermixed between tele and MS on this floor, may float to ICU or ER to care for overflow.

Unit Specific Information

• Unit: MedSurg/Tele
• Average census: 22-27
• Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:05
• Common diagnoses: Basic surgical-appys, choles, ortho-shoulders, hips, knees, basic cardiac, day 2 post STEMI, medical, COPD, suicidal pts, renal disease, large geriatric population.

Additional Details

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; Med Sol clinical prescreen
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any facility associated with CommonSpirit within the past year.
• RN must pass the Basic Dysrhythmia (83%) before signing the contract. They will be given three attempts to pass.
• Call outs are strongly discouraged and could lead to termination.
• Several travelers have extended or came back, very traveler friendly.
