Job Description This posting is to create a pool of qualified applicants for the current and/or upcoming academic year. While the department may not be actively recruiting at this time, applicants who meet all minimum qualifications and have submitted complete application materials will be contacted if a position becomes available.
Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Human Resources Intern to join our team. The Intern will assist the Human Resources department in various administrative tasks and projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in HR operations within the context of a vibrant community college setting.
Responsibilities: - Assist with recruitment and onboarding processes, including job postings, applicant tracking, applicant screening, scheduling interviews and serving as EEO representative on interviews.
- Support HR staff in maintaining accurate employee records and databases.
- Assist in organizing and facilitating employee training and development programs.
- Aid in the coordination of employee benefits administration and enrollment processes.
- Assist with drafting HR policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Provide administrative support for HR-related projects and initiatives.
- Assist in periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Other duties assigned by HR leadership.
Qualifications Qualifications: - Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Prior internship or work experience in HR is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of California labor laws and regulations is a plus.

Employment Requirements The person selected for hire will be required to complete the following pre-employment requirements:
- Submit to and successfully pass DOJ live scan/fingerprinting. Cost of live-scan services to be borne by candidate.
- Sealed official transcript(s) in envelope from institution or electronic copies emailed directly from institution (for positions with higher education requirement)
- Tuberculosis (TB) risk assessment
- Other pre-employment requirements may be required depending on the position (i.e. certifications or licenses; see job posting qualifications section for details).
Successful completion of all pre-employment requirements is mandatory to be eligible for employment. These requirements are in accordance with the San Bernardino Community College District's
