Job Summary

The Ranch Hand as directed by the Agriculture Operations Manager will be responsible for feeding and watering, monitoring, caring for cattle, building and maintaining and repairing fences, and assisting with various ranch tasks.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Feed and water cattle, ensuring their health and nutrition
• Build, repair, and maintain ranch fencing
• Assist with herding, moving, and handling cattle
• Perform general maintenance and repair tasks around the ranch, including equipment upkeep
• Monitor livestock for signs of illness or injury and report to the manager
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
• Performance of related duties as assigned

Job Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in ranch work or livestock care is preferred
• Basic knowledge of livestock care, fencing and general maintenance
• Ability to operate ranch equipment and machinery safely
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with a team
• Reliable, punctual, and self motivated

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands & Work Conditions

• Bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, squatting
• Pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds
• Working outdoors with or without wet, dusty or windy weather conditions
• Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform strenuous tasks
• Able to drive a side by side "Utility" vehicle (UTV)
• Able to drive a full-size work truck with trailer
• Able to operate machinery and heavy equipment

Salary Range

$32—$37 USD
