Description of Work Unit Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation's leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The goal of the Department of Economics is to build a learning community that supports the intellectual development and professional aspirations of both students and faculty. Our undergraduate and graduate programs offer courses that cover an unusually wide range of economic thought, including neoclassical economics, Keynesian economics, institutional economics, Marxian economics and feminist economics. We want our students to become critical thinkers who understand the debates about economic methodology and policy as well as the techniques of economic analysis.
Position Summary The Department of Economics at Colorado State University invites applications for the positions of Research Associates I, II or III as part-time and full-time research associates, as projects become available. For most projects, a minimum 1-year commitment is desired.
Please note this is an open pool posting. If/When a position becomes available within the department applicants in the pool will be reviewed. Required Job Qualifications Experience in one or more of the following is required depending upon the position: data collection, management and analysis, survey work, mathematical and econometric modeling, report writing and article co-authorship, oral presentations or communication with stakeholders.
Research Assoc I : entry-level positions for individuals with less than 3 years of professional, post-baccalaureate (or equivalent) experience. Possess knowledge of basic economics principles, concepts, and methodologies.
Research Assoc II : Bachelors degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience or a recent Masters degree and no other significant professional experience. Possess knowledge of basic economics principles, concepts, and methodologies supplemented with job experience or additional professional knowledge.
Research Assoc III : Bachelors degree and 5 years of work-related experience or a Masters degree with at least 2 years experience or a PhD with no additional experience. Possess knowledge of a wide range of economics principles, concepts, and practices.
